A group of Travellers who set up camp on a pay and display car park in a Leicestershire town centre have moved on today.

A collection of about 10 caravans arrived on the Commons car park in Market Harborough on Sunday.

The camp, which included caravans and vehicles, left after being ordered to vacate the site by noon today by the The Multi-Agency Traveller Unit.

The unit, which is run by Leicestershire County Council and all the district councils in the county, spoke to the group on Monday.

“The Travellers left the Commons car park site this morning in compliance with the notice we issued on Monday (12 Oct),” said a unit spokesperson.
