There’s been a dramatic drop in the number of newly confirmed coronavirus cases in the city and county.
More than 350 cases were confirmed both yesterday and on Wednesday, and before that there were six days when cases topped 200.
Today, however, just 128 new cases have been confirmed in Leicester and Leicestershire. Some 56 cases were in the city with the remaining 72 spread across the county.
Broken down to district and borough level, Charnwood added 22 new cases to its rolling toll.
Both Oadby and Wigston and Hinckley and Bosworth’s totals have increased by 15, and Blaby saw 11 new infections identified.
Five cases were recorded in North West Leicestershire, three in Harborough
