Banksy confirms new 'hula-hooping girl' mural in East Midlands is his work

Banksy has claimed a mural of a hula-hooping girl which appeared in Nottingham this week as his work.

The graffiti artist ended speculation about whether he was behind the creation when he posted a picture of the work on his Instagram account.

The piece appeared on a wall on the corner of Rothesay Avenue, in Lenton, last Tuesday

Sprayed in black and white, the tongue-in-cheek image sits just behind a battered bike chained to a lamp post with an infinity lock.

The bike is missing a tyre.

The girl in the artwork is spinning a bike tyre around her waist.

Surinder Kaur, 42, who runs the beauty salon next to the artwork, said the bike
