Crowds gathered in a small Lenton street on Saturday morning, October 17, as incognito artist Banksy confirmed they were responsible for a new piece of city artwork.
The 'Hula-hoop' girl, as she became known, depicts a young girl playing hula hoop with a bicycle tyre, while a real bike with a tyre missing lays next to her.
People began to wonder whether the art in Rothesay Avenue, off Ilkeston Road, was a genuine Banksy after it was spotted on Thursday, October 15.
Experts in the city raised doubts about its origins, and one street artist, Itchers, even laid claim to it. But Banksy himself confirmed it was their own work as the image was unveiled
