Around two and a half million new coins will be put into circulation on Monday.
Officials say the coins will honour the profound contribution minority communities have made to UK history.
The new 50ps form part of a broader official plan to include a wider range of people on coins and notes in the future, according to the Treasury.

Their design was created by Dominique Evans, a mixed-race woman who has previously designed coins to mark VE Day, the sapphire coronation and Jane Austen.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak commissioned the coins earlier this year after discussions
