Arrest after reports of man attacking woman and throwing glass inside pub

A man has been arrested after an incident at a pub where a woman was attacked and glass was thrown at people trying to intervene.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to The Blue Bell in Mansfield Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at around 7.10pm on Saturday (October 17) and the pub was evacuated.

Firefighters and ambulance crews were also at the scene, with a man treated for a laceration to his forearm and a woman hospitalised with wrist and head injuries.

A 32-year-old man was arrested by police at the scene on suspicion of kidnap, criminal damage, assault and actual bodily harm.

He remains in police custody.
