A number of businesses in the city have received letters threatening them with action for breaching Covid-19 restrictions - but it is a hoax.
A letter purporting to have come from the city council informed recipients they had been observed not complying with Tier 2 restrictions.
Bars and restaurants in Queens Road, in the Clarendon Park area of the city, received the letter on Friday.
Titled 'Review form for corona virus restrictions compliance', the letter read: "The purpose of this form is to advise you that your establishment has been observed, and it is apparent that you're not complying with the Tier 2 'higher' restrictions, as categorised for Leicester:
"Local COVID alert level: high. This
