The head teacher of a Nottingham school which was the first to report a Covid-19 outbreak just days into the term has described how hard the school and community has worked to keep the virus at bay.
Amanda Dawson who leads the Mellers Primary School in Radford received the news over the first weekend of the autumn term.
Children returned to their classrooms on Wednesday, September 2, but by the following Monday, the school was closed after a Year 1 teacher tested positive aand others quickly followed.
Initially, just pupils who had been in contact were asked to self-isolate for 14 days but as other staff also went into
