Shah Sami was locked up after he stabbed his former partner after trying to kidnap her in a hire car in Nottingham.
He had been unable to cope properly with losing the young woman who he "loved and was clearly devoted," said his barrister, Barry Koga at Nottingham Crown Court.
And a convicted murderer from Nottinghamshire attacked notorious child killer Roy Whiting in his prison cell, a court had heard.
Richard Prendergast and another convicted murdered, Kevin Hyden, shouted “get him in the neck” as they attacked.
