Go-ahead tipped for more than 100 flats

The go-ahead has been recommended for more than 100 apartments to be constructed on the site of a vacant East End Foods depot in Birmingham.

The proposals have been drawn up by K4 Architects for Prosperity Developments and relate to land in Darwin Street in the Highgate area of the city.

A part-five and part six-storey building containing 116 apartments would be constructed if Birmingham City Council approves the scheme at a virtual meeting of its planning committee on Tuesday 19 November.

A council document published ahead of the meeting said: "The proposed development raises a number of material planning issues that must be considered as part of an overall planning balance.
