More than £11 million will be invested in the Warwickshire town of Rugby and its surrounding areas thanks to a new development by Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

The funding, which totals £11,191,358.08 forms part of the planning agreement for the new development located on Ashlawn Road, and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the town.

Among the investment is £5.5 million for education, over £1.1 million for indoor and outdoor sports facilities, more than £1.4 million towards transport and upwards of £770,000 towards open space maintenance.

The new development will provide a collection of 644 properties that will meet the needs of a range of homebuyers in the area.

John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Investing into local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.”

Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, added: “As our development progresses we are delighted to announce that we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but the construction process will underpin 1,288 jobs for the local area.”

Residents at the upcoming new homes site will be just a few minutes’ drive from Rugby town centre and its many independent retailers, high street shops and eateries.

Commuters will be able to benefit from great transport links with the M45 nearby. For families, there are ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated schools nearby too meaning parents have peace of mind knowing their children’s education is well catered for.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes expect to launch the new homes at Elborough Place and Ashlawn Gardens for sale in the coming months.
