More than 100 people queue to be among the first to visit Leicester's new Jollibee restaurant

Leicester's new Jollibee restaurant has proved very popular so far on its first day of opening.

The new branch, in Humberstone Gate, opened at 10am this morning, and there were people queuing from 7am - eager to be among the first people in the city to try Jollibee's famous brand of chicken.

The socially-distanced queue went down Humberstone Gate, right down Charles Street to Lower Free Lane, with approximately 120 people waiting for the doors to open.

Adam Parkinson, head of Jollibee Europe, officially cut the ribbon in the opening ceremony alongside the Leicester team and Jollibee's iconic mascot.
