A 94-year-old man has been honoured for his selfless efforts to brighten up life in a city care home.
Tony Bradley, a former teacher, was named 'unpaid volunteer of the year' at the Great British Care Awards for work he carries out at Beaumont Hall, in Beaumont Leys, Leicester.
Tony began volunteering at the home after his wife of 74 years, Renelle, moved there three years ago.
He soon began helping staff and other residents with everyday jobs around the home and even underwent training in moving and handling techniques in order to better assist with Renelle's care.
