An angry old man tried to hit his neighbour with a brick and later chased him into his home armed with a knife.
The victim feared that 73-year-old Daniel Norman was going to stab him as he jabbed the blade at the front door, trying to get in to attack him, Leicester Crown Court was told.
The pensioner, of Keightley Road, New Parks, in the city, admitted common assault on his neighbour, whose children were playing on a communal area near both their gardens, on Saturday May 16.
Norman also pleaded guilty to using threatening words and behaviour and possessing a knife in public, on Friday June 5.
