A Taser was used to detain a man believed to be armed, after he allegedly threatened officers, police confirm.
Nottinghamshire Police were called to an address in Philip Road, Newark at around 11.15pm on Saturday night following reports of a domestic disturbance.
Officers were told a man, reported to be armed, was banging on the door of a woman's house.
Upon arrival, police said the man was located but was 'uncooperative' and allegedly threatened officers.
The force confirmed a Taser was discharged to detain the man.
The man, aged 41, has been arrested on suspicion of threats to kill. He remains in police custody.
