A Leicestershire golf club has secured a year-long sponsorship deal with a local housebuilder which is providing new homes near the course.
Bellway East Midlands, which is building a range of houses at Waltham Heights in Walton on the Wolds, has given £3,000 to Melton Mowbray Golf Club in the neighbouring village of Thorpe Arnold.
David Hirst, Marketing Director at Melton Mowbray Golf Club, said: “Sponsorship from local businesses is really important to the club.
“We’re therefore really pleased to have formed this new partnership with local housebuilder Bellway, which will help fund the ongoing costs of maintaining our superb course and club for members and visitors.
“We also hope our partnership with Bellway will bring new faces to the club. We welcome golfers of all ages and abilities to join us in this beautiful parkland setting. A full range of membership options and introductory packages are available.”
Claire Black, Sales Manager at Bellway East Midlands, said: “We are very pleased to have agreed this sponsorship deal with Melton Mowbray Golf Club. Supporting the local community and its surrounding amenities is at the heart of what we do and we’re particularly aware this has been a challenging year for many sports clubs and organisations.
“As well as helping to support the golf club, we hope our partnership will raise its profile among new residents at Waltham Heights. Golf is one of many fantastic recreational activities in the surrounding area that people living here can enjoy.”
Bellway is building a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and bungalows at Waltham Heights, which is located off Melton Road in Waltham on the Wolds.
The seven-acre housing development is less than three miles from the golf club, which is set in rolling countryside with views across the Leicestershire Wolds.
There is a selection of homes currently available at Waltham Heights, with prices starting from £225,000.
