A Market Harborough primary school held a successful virtual quiz and raffle, with help from a local housebuilder.
Linden Homes, which is providing 119 new homes at its sold-out Ashton Rise development in Market Harborough, was approached by Market Harborough Church of England Academy to offer a prize for the online family event.
The housebuilder donated three Amazon vouchers to support the fundraiser, which took place on Wednesday 16 December.
Hosted by Father Christmas himself, the event was organised by the school’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PFTA) and managed to raise over £500.
Chairman of the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association, Andrew Reeves, said: “We wanted to host an event that would be fun and would raise a good amount of money for the school.
“Usually the school would have summer and winter fairs, as well as other ways of raising money throughout the year, but that has not been able to happen this year because of the coronavirus, so we have missed out on some major fundraising opportunities.
“I would like to thank everybody who helped organise and take part in the quiz and raffle, and Linden Homes for its generous donation. It seemed like everybody enjoyed themselves and every penny raised will go to the school to enrich the children and their education.”
Linden Homes has completed its construction work at the Ashton Rise development, creating 119 new homes in Market Harborough.
Despite completing its work in the town, the developer has shown a commitment to the community in the area, which it continues to do across the East Midlands region, in areas in which the housebuilder is delivering more than just new homes.
Nic Chapman, Sales and Marketing Director of Linden Homes East Midlands, said: “We understand how difficult this year has been for local communities, which is why we were more than happy to help provide a prize for Market Harborough CofE Academy’s quiz and raffle.
“We have spent a lot of time in Market Harborough constructing the new homes at Ashton Rise and we have felt like we are very much a part of the community. We thought it was only right that we show our support to this great cause.”
