Formal plans have been submitted for a £300m high-tech food manufacturing and distribution campus in Derby which could create up to 5,000 jobs.
SmartParc is behind the proposals for the 155-acre site on the former Celanese site near Spondon.
The planned 1.8 million sq ft hub would provide state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, start-up incubation units and a potential location for a Food Manufacturing Technology Centre of Excellence.
The submission of a planning application to Derby City Council comes after the government pledged £12m towards the project in August 2020.
At the time, the scheme was expected to create up to 4,500 jobs.
