First-time buyers looking to purchase their dream home in Derbyshire can take advantage of the new Help to Buy scheme at a Bellway development in the area.
The updated Government initiative can be used at the housebuilder’s Curzon Park development in Wingerworth.
The new version of Help to Buy is similar to the previous one, though it now only allows first-time buyers, not home movers, to purchase a new-build home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of an equity loan from the Government, which is interest free for the first five years of homeownership.
Homes eligible to be purchased under the scheme must also be priced under the new caps set for their region. This is £261,900 in Derbyshire, which falls within the East Midlands.
Steve Smith, Sales Manager for Bellway East Midlands, said: “First-time buyers can sometimes find the thought of saving up to pay a large deposit intimidating, with it often being a long journey in achieving the goal of owning their own home.
“The new Help to Buy scheme will enable many to skip forward in this chapter of their lives and help them to step onto the property ladder a lot sooner.”
Bellway is building 222 new homes at Curzon Park, off Derby Road in the village.
The homes available for reservation under the new Help to Buy scheme at Curzon Park are a range of three and four-bedroom house types – the Somerby, Lichfield, Ashby and Worcester designs.
Steve said: “The homes at Curzon Park are particularly attractive to first-time buyers, thanks to their highly desirable location, close to the Peak District and open countryside, yet also good for commuters, just three miles from Chesterfield railway station, and six miles from the M1.
“The three-bedroom options available using the Help to Buy scheme – the Somerby, Lichfield and Ashby – all benefit from open-plan kitchen and dining areas. The four-bedroom option, a charming Worcester house type, enables families to live over three floors with generous living space throughout.
“Homes are selling fast at Curzon Park, so I would urge anyone interested in taking their first step on the property ladder here to get in touch with the sales team to find out more.”
