Health chiefs at Royal Derby Hospital have conceded that its decision to only allow one relative to see their loved one before he died from Covid-19 was “not acceptable”.
A board meeting was told yesterday of a heartbreaking experience of a family who were kept from being with their relative during his last days, due to Covid restrictions, despite others being allowed to do so.
They were not making a complaint, but wanted to ensure their voices were heard and that services were improved, heard the board meeting of the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
