Leicester and Leicestershire's vaccine effort is recruiting including some paid roles

A call has gone out for people who could help roll out Leicestershire’s coronavirus vaccination programme.

In the coming weeks, the NHS and the Government will be trying to ramp up the number of jabs administered at vaccination sites across the city and county.

There is now an effort to recruit both volunteers and paid staff for roles to help deliver jabs to those in priority groups.

Voluntary Action Leicestershire (VAL) is looking for greeters, stewards and chaperones for patients who are arriving to receive their vaccinations.

NHS staff will remain responsible for the actual administration of vaccine doses.
