Water company bosses have apologised to drivers because temporary traffic lights on the A6 near Market Harborough keep breaking down.
Severn Trent Water has said sorry and pledged to fix the lights, which have been placed on the road while a burst water pipe is repaired.
The lights failed for the fourth time in three days today, getting stuck on red in both directions.
The problems have led to long queues for drivers and Harborough Police urged the company to sort the issue out, after some motorists expressed safety concerns.
Officers got the contractors to control the lights manually on Monday after another breakdown.
