A heartbroken animal lover is offering a thousand pound reward to anyone who can ensure the safe return of her pet crow after he was stolen in a burglary at her Leicestershire home.

Eddie the crow was abducted during a raid in broad daylight on a house in the centre of Stoney Stanton, near Hinckley, on Monday afternoon.

Cash, jewellery and power tools were also taken - but it is her missing feathered friend who antique dealer Michelle Johnson, originally from Sapcote, is most upset about.

The one-year-old bird was hand-reared and nurtured back to health after it was found close to death, laying injured on the ground, as a tiny chick in a school
