Group fined after trying to sleep overnight in Derbyshire

Police in Derbyshire have fined a group of people who tried to sleep overnight in the county.

Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary found four young adults who had travelled from Manchester into the county on Wednesday, January 13.

Buxton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) said the group wanted to stay overnight in the Chapel-en-le-Frith area.

Officers said they did not have a reasonable excuse for doing so though, leading all four to be fined for breaching Covid restrictions before they were sent back to the Greater Manchester area.

Officers revealed details of this clear-cut violation of the rules in a post on their Facebook page.
