Police issue update on Lincoln terror arrest

A 34-year-old man arrested at a property in Lincoln on suspicion of encouraging terrorism has been bailed.

Special Branch officers from Counter Terrorism Policing East Midlands arrested a 34-year-old man in Fairfax Street, off Newark Road, at 6.50am on Wednesday, January 13.

He was taken into police custody as police searching a property.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: "The man has been released on bail while our inquiries continue."

Police said yesterday: "A 34-year-old man was arrested at 6.50am this morning [January 13] in Fairfax Street on suspicion of Encouragement of Terrorism, under section 1 of the Terrorism Act (2006).
