Road closed and police warning after lorries jackknife in snowy conditions

Drivers have been urged to travel "if only absolutely necessary" after a lorry jackknifed driving in snowy conditions in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed a closure is in place on the A60 near Church Warsop, in Mansfield, as a result of heavy snowfall in the county.

A separate incident nearby in Netherfield Lane between Meden Vale and Budby - also caused by a jackknifed lorry - led to a warning from officers about driving in the conditions.

A police spokesperson said: "Road closed between A60 Bishops Walk, Church Warsop and Cottage Lane at the Cuckney Cross roads junction due to a jackknifed lorry and hazardous road conditions due to the snow.
