SEGRO has unveiled plans to speculatively build at its 700-acre logistics site, SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway.
This is the first speculative development at the park and will create over 220,000 sq ft of modern warehousing which SEGRO will market to potential or existing customers. The building is scheduled to be ready for occupation in October 2021.
The unit will be developed to high sustainability standards, with the building achieving a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) ‘Excellent’ rating and it will be a net carbon zero building.
Sustainable features include roof mounted photovoltaic panels, LED lighting and upgraded cladding which improves air-tightness for temperature controlled operations. The development also benefits from a clear height to eaves of 15m.
