NORTHAMPTONSHIRE DEVELOPER ENCOURAGES RESIDENTS TO KEEP HEALTH AND WELLBEING A TOP PRIORITY AS RESTRICTIONS EASE

In response to the lifestyle shift we are facing now Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease, Northamptonshire developer David Wilson Homes is reminding its residents to keep their health and wellbeing a priority as we adjust back into ‘normality’.

The homebuilder, which has many residents living at its new community The Wickets in Earls Barton, has partnered with mental health charity Northamptonshire Mind, to give its top tips on managing stress and anxiety during this time.

Handy leaflets with information and support have been delivered to the residents at the Main Road development as part of Stress Awareness Month which runs throughout April.

The tips from Northamptonshire Mind focus on coping with anxiety, the return of commuting and the importance of keeping a routine.

John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “Whilst lockdown and staying at home became the norm for the majority of us over the past year, returning to our ‘old way’ of life may cause worry for some.

“The hustle and bustle of going back to commuting and navigating around busy high streets and town centres will take some adjusting to after a year of limited contact and social distancing. Recognising the signs of stress and how to deal with these are vital.

“It has been an incredibly uncertain and challenging time for us all and we hope that we can support our residents and encourage them to put their wellbeing first as restrictions continue to ease.”

As well as teaming up with Northamptonshire Mind to provide support to its residents, David Wilson Homes also recently announced its continued support for the charity by naming it the charity of the year for the second consecutive year.

Fundraising lead at Northamptonshire Mind Nick Tite said: “We are proud to be working with David Wilson Homes and it was important to work with them on these handy leaflets to help with mental well-being.

“It has been a tough year for everyone and it’s important we all support each other as we adjust to the easing of lockdown and restrictions.”

In reminding people they aren’t alone, Northamptonshire Mind encourages them to visit www.northamptonshiremind.org.uk where they can find resources and support to help them. If you are able to help Mind continue to support your local communities by helping out or fundraising, please contact Nick Tite at nick.tite@northamptonshiremind.org.uk.

The Wickets has just a few properties remaining before its completely sold out, meaning house hunters in the area should act quickly if they want to join the flourishing community.
