WARWICKSHIRE HOMEBUILDERS BREAK DOWN BARRIERS TO MOVING FOLLOWING NEW SURVEY

Leading homebuilders Barratt and David Wilson Homes are helping Warwickshire residents overcome their barriers to moving properties which have been revealed in a recent survey.

Coronavirus and the difficulty of selling an existing property are just a few of many thoughts that come alongside moving home.

The survey conducted by the five star developers* has revealed that the biggest concerns amongst residents are that selling their existing home will be hard (20%) and that the pandemic has impacted the housing market negatively (26%).

Jan Ruston, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, is giving residents in the county a helping hand to conquer their moving fears.

She said: “If you’re worried about the difficulty of selling your existing property, speak to our sales team about our Part Exchange and Movemaker schemes on selected plots which can help make the process so much easier.

“For example, Part Exchange speeds up the moving process as we will nominate two estate agents to instruct on the sale of your current property to us, handling all viewings and enquiries, giving you less to worry about.

Addressing the concerns regarding the pandemic negatively impacting the housing market, Jan added: “There’s no denying that as with almost everything, Coronavirus forced the housing market to come to a standstill, so it would be understandable to assume that the market has been negatively impacted. However, the second half of 2020 saw house prices increase dramatically, with December setting a new record high for the average price of a house in the UK.

“Therefore, we urge residents not to be concerned about the housing market. With the recent budget announcement, research has suggested that the average house price will increase by 4% in 2021.

“No matter what the barrier may be to making your move, we advise you to get in touch with one of our award winning sales teams, who will answer any questions you may have.”

For first time buyers wanting to make a move onto the property ladder, Help to Buy is available with a regional price-cap of £261,900.

Barratt Homes has properties available at its developments The Long Shoot in Nuneaton, Deram Parke in Coventry and St James’ Gate in Weddington.

David Wilson Homes is also building in the county at Ashlawn Gardens and The Moorings in Rugby.
