£12.1m deal struck to buy Walkers Crisps warehouse

A big warehouse used by Walkers Crisps next to its huge Leicester manufacturing headquarters has been sold for £12.1 million.

The PepsiCo subsidiary uses the 122,000 sq ft premises on the Bursom Industrial Estate, in Beaumont Leys, on the northern edge of the city, to store raw materials before they go to its factory over the road.

It has been bought by UK and European real estate investment management firm Oxenwood Real Estate, for Oxenwood Catalina – its joint venture with Catalina Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd.

The seller has not been named.

The three-bay warehouse is let to Walkers for another 10 years, and the deal reflects a net initial yield of 5 per cent for the new owner.
