With a wedding planned for August, a young couple have flown the nest and found a suitable home to begin their married life in Fleckney.
Having stepped on the property ladder to plan for their future, Will Towson and Georgina Harrison (both 25) moved into a two bedroom property at David Wilson Homes’ Fleckney Fields development.
The couple, an IT Technician and a Nursery Nurse respectively, each saved through a Help to Buy: ISA and can rest assured now they’ve secured their own space ahead of their wedding.
Will said: “We were both living with our parents before so we fortunately didn’t have many outgoings and saved up quite comfortably. It feels great to be in our own home so we can look ahead to our wedding in August.
“A two bedroom property within our budget was our goal and we’ve managed to find a home that gives us the space we need. Even if we were to have a child, this property would still suit our needs.
“A new build property appealed to us because a first home is a big investment and we knew it would be good value for money. We didn’t like the idea of having to renovate a second-hand property and there’s the added assurance of having someone onsite should we need them for anything.”
The couple purchased a Wilford style home features a stylish fitted kitchen, a generous lounge and dining area, in addition to a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, a family bathroom and a storage area.
Will and Georgina are from Market Harborough and Loughborough, but weren’t aware of what Fleckney had to offer before beginning their search for a property.
Will continued: “We didn’t know much about the area but the village is great for starter homes. There are shops, takeaways and nice walks through the fields on our doorstep so we’ve got all we need.
“The location of our home at Fleckney Fields is quite comforting as we’re surrounding by like-minded people. Our neighbours are also first time buyers and only a year younger than ourselves, which is nice.
“We moved during lockdown and weren’t able to have the usual new home tour, but our move was carried out safely and efficiently which made the journey to our first home together a great experience.”
Fleckney Fields is an ideal setting for family-planning couples with the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Fleckney Primary School located within the village.
Market Harborough and Leicester are comfortably accessible via the nearby A6, whilst country pubs, a local butcher’s and a Co-op create the best of both worlds.
