Richard Carr, the newly appointed managing director of the East Midlands Development Corporation (EM DevCo), has outlined his priorities for bringing forward the region's £4.8bn vision for regeneration.
In his first interview since being appointed in June, Richard Carr told Insider that his first priority is to get major investors to back EM DevCo’s plan to create an innovation park, an advanced manufacturing and energy hub, along with 84,000 jobs and 10,000 homes. All this will add £4.8bn to the region’s economy.
This vision takes in three major sites – East Midlands Airport, Toton and Chetwynd Barracks and Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station, all of which offer hundreds of acres of development opportunity.
