A total of 210 pupil places are being created at a new primary school in Castle Donington.
The £4.2m project is being delivered on behalf of housebuilders, Miller Homes, Redrow and Clowes Developments by contractor Seddon. The companies are required to provide a school as part of section 106 conditions, implemented by Leicestershire County Council.
Planning was approved in March 2020 with work initially starting in June 2020 but due to the national lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme was delayed.
Seddon is building the school on Welston Road at the centre of new communities built by Miller Homes, Redrow and Clowes Developments UK, comprising 895 houses.
The scheme is designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects.
