Housebuilder donates hampers to village’s festive prize draw

A Cambridgeshire housebuilder has donated a collection of Christmas hampers to a local village’s annual festive prize draw.

Linden Homes handed over the hampers to Caldecote Village Club for the Christmas event on Saturday 18 December.

Linden Homes, which is part of Vistry Group along with Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships, is building 66 new homes at its All Angels Park development in Highfields Caldecote.

Russell Beresford, chairman of Caldecote Village Club, said: “We are very grateful to Linden Homes for the generous donation of Christmas hampers. We were not able to stage this event last year due to the pandemic, so it is great to be able to get everyone together this December.

“The first prize in the draw is £300 cash and there are gifts in up to 200 of the 1,000 squares which are bought for £1 each. It’s one of the highlights of the year in the village social calendar and everyone looks forward to the big draw on Saturday 18 December.

“We reveal on the night which squares have prizes in and everyone has good night, even if they don’t win.”

Jason Colmer, sales and marketing director of Linden Homes Eastern, said: “The festive period is a special time of the year and it is great that village social clubs up and down the country are organising events to bring everyone together.

“We are very happy to be able to support Caldecote Village Club by donating these Christmas hampers as prizes for the annual draw. At Linden Homes we do not just deliver homes, we build new neighbourhoods and want to ensure we play our part in helping people enjoy the benefits of living in a strong community.”

The hamper supplier, Home Move Box, also gifted one of its own hampers to be used for the village club’s festive prize draw.
