A major residential scheme in Nottingham has taken another step forward after contractors installed steel structures for the development’s tenth and highest storey.

The 348-apartment scheme on Queen’s Road next to Nottingham station was brought forward by blocwork, a joint venture between Network Rail and Bloc Group, after planning approval was granted in 2019.

The build to rent development, known as the Barnum, was acquired by Grainger plc in 2020. GRAHAM began construction work on the building in early 2021.

It was designed by Nottingham-based Franklin Ellis Architects.

Representatives from Bloc Group, Network Rail, Grainger, GRAHAM, Franklin Ellis Architects and Walker Sime held a topping out ceremony last week to celebrate the scheme reaching its highest point, where they were joined by Cllr Leslie Ayoola from Nottingham City
