Plans to build a huge mixed-use, residential-led scheme on the former Forest Mill on Alfreton Road in Nottingham have been delayed.

Olympian Homes had hoped to get the green light to build a major scheme that would house 790 students, include 19 houses along with leisure and retail facilities on a brownfield site surrounded by Alfreton Road, Highhurst Street, Denman Street East and Boden Street – just outside Nottingham city centre.

Sitting yesterday, Nottingham City Council’s planning committee failed to vote through the scheme, despite it being recommended for approval by planning bosses at the authority, with a further consultation on the plans set to be carried out.
