Independent Leicester-based Building Supplier, HB Supplies, has further strengthened its offering for builders, plasterers and plumbers with the introduction of construction boards to its product line.
HB Supplies now stocks a wide range of A1 fire rated construction and backer boards, which can be used across multiple trades for a variety of applications, including plastering, plumbing kitchens and bathrooms, building modular structures, rendering and cladding. Boards from brands such as James Hardie, Modülar and STS will now be available in store and online.
The move will see the family run business become one of the largest independent stockists of construction and backer boards in the Midlands, consolidating its position as a one-stop-shop for tradespeople across Leicestershire and beyond.
HB Owner and Managing Director, Neil Hibbert, commented on this step forward for the company. He said: “We pride ourselves on the wide range of products we stock, servicing the construction, landscaping and drainage trades, however with this introduction of these boards, we will open ourselves up even further. One of the main benefits of the construction boards on offer is the A1 fire rating and fire-proof guarantee; now a legal requirement in the wake of the 2017 Grenfell tragedy. Since the tower fire, combustible materials are now banned for the use of external cladding and facades, meaning all construction work must comply with rigid regulations. The boards distributed by HB Supplies have the highest level of fire-rated performance in the industry.
As well as external cladding and rendering, construction boards are regularly used by plumbers and tilers for creating a solid water proof and durable foundation for kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms.
