A football club in Anstey has received a donation of sponsored kits from leading housebuilder David Wilson Homes.
Anstey Nomads Football Club, which is located near to the housebuilder’s New Lubbesthorpe development in Leicester, received the kits for its Under 13s Swift Girls team for the 2023/24 season.
The donation took place amidst the excitement of the Women’s Super League which is due to commence on Monday 2nd October.
Anstey Nomads U13s Swift Girls has endured a tough start to the season, playing against a variety of teams across Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
The team is keen to secure their first win of the season in their new attire in an upcoming home match against Rugby Borough Women and Girls Under 13s Panthers this weekend (Sunday 1st October).
John Carpenter, a parent of one of the players at Anstey Nomads FC, said: “It’s amazing that David Wilson Homes has decided to support the girls team. The Swifts have been without a sponsor in recent years, so when my daughter joined the team, I decided to see if there was something that David Wilson Homes could do to support. With the increased successes of women’s football nationally, we are hopeful that success for the Swifts will soon follow.”
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “As a committed housebuilder, we recognise the profound impact sports can have on our local communities, promoting active lifestyles and inspiring the rising stars of tomorrow.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to sponsor the kits of Anstey Nomads Under 13s Swift Girls, and we wish them all the best with their remaining series of matches.”
David Wilson Homes is building a number of new properties at its New Lubbesthorpe development, with a range of two, three and four bedroom homes available to buy now.
