Business Shows Group Support Local Charity Nottinghamshire Hospice at 2023 East Midlands Expo

Nottinghamshire Hospice seeks help from local businesses.

Nottinghamshire Hospice provides end-of-life care, wellbeing activities and bereavement support for people affected by incurable illnesses across Nottinghamshire.

Most of the care takes place in patients’ own homes, allowing people to be in familiar surroundings with loved ones around them at the end of their lives. This supports patients and their loved ones, as well as taking pressure off the NHS by preventing hospital admissions.

The hospice is a charity which relies on the generous support of local communities and companies to raise the funds it needs to provide its services. It costs £4 million a year to run the hospice, and it’s currently seeking more corporate partners.

Businesses can get involved by taking part in a volunteering day at the hospice to fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibility aims, organising an office fundraiser, sponsoring an event, or even donating their expertise.

Adam Huckerby, Corporate Fundraiser at Nottinghamshire Hospice, says: “It’s a chance for local companies to give back to their community and there are lots of ways to get involved. In return we offer increased brand exposure, team building opportunities, first refusal on challenge events and networking events with other corporate partners.

“The businesses we work with tell us they find it hugely rewarding being involved with the hospice. Supporting a charity like Nottinghamshire Hospice helps foster team spirit among staff and gives people a sense of satisfaction that they are able to give something back to their local communities.”

The charity’s annual winter appeal, Light up a Life, also provides corporate sponsorship opportunities. For a donation of £300 – the cost of providing a night of care in a patient’s home – a company can light up the hospice’s historic tower in a colour of their choice.

Nottinghamshire Hospice will be exhibiting at the East Midlands Expo on 13th November 2023, a networking exhibition that connects professionals from various sectors, primarily Property, Construction, Finance, Investment and B2B. The event is hosted at EMCC, Nottingham and is free for visitors. The exhibition opens at 9am to attendees, it features over 80 exhibitors mainly from within the Property/Construction/Finance/Investment/B2B sectors – a fantastic day to network and meet new contacts.   Also, free to attend is the 10:30am on topic seminar titled “Strive Not For Success, But rather to be of Value” presented by David Stewart (PropertyFace2Face) and featuring guest speakers Andrew Pritchard (East Midlands Council), Jamie Jordan (Bank of England), Mark Rogers (EMCCA) and Richard Carr (EM Devco). Tina King, the event organiser, says “We are proud to support Nottinghamshire Hospice as our chosen charity for this year’s event. If you want to donate or collaborate with the charity, please visit their stand (L4), and talk to their staff on the day.” Pre-register at https://businessshowsgroup.co.uk/register/
