Despite several objections, councillors have approved a housing development in Welton, Lincolnshire, consisting of 109 homes.

The plans, proposed by Turley Farms Ltd, were debated at a West Lindsey District Council meeting.

Initially rejected in May 2022 due to access concerns, they were resubmitted in June with adjustments.

The development includes 25% affordable housing, divided into 60% affordable rent, 25% first homes, and 15% shared ownership.

Under section 106, £69,942.50 will be contributed upon completion of 50% of the dwellings for extending local health facilities.

Despite receiving 80 objections, including from the parish council, the plans align with the Central Lincolnshire local plan and garnered no objection from the county council’s highways team.

Reserved matters related to this decision will be revisited by the planning committee later.
