Work has started on a new waterside office and factory complex that will pay tribute to its occupier’s Italian heritage.

GVS Filter Technology UK makes complex technical filtration systems for the healthcare, life science, safety and automotive sectors. The company, founded in Italy in 1979 by Grazia Valentini, is now set to move its UK base from Morecambe to a £14m site in Lancaster.

The project is being led by Bamber Bridge-based Conlon Construction and architecture firm Cassidy + Ashton.

The scheme will see an existing warehouse at the 24,000 sqm Caton Road site repurposed and extended to create a two-storey, low carbon waterside development. The project will include renewable energy and heat transfer management systems, as well as a drainage system that will channel surface water into a
