New homeowners raised a toast alongside the staff who helped build their homes at a celebratory event held at a new homes development in Derbyshire.
Miller Homes has successfully delivered 350 new homes across three phases at its Hackwood Park scheme off Radbourne Lane in Derby, and its staff spent time with the residents of the development to celebrate work drawing to a close on the site.
The housebuilder arranged a residents-only barbecue event on Saturday, 25 May, which coincided with National BBQ Week, to provide an opportunity for its new homeowners to get together and have the chance to get to know each other and speak to the staff who helped build their homes.
Emma Weston, Head of Sales for Miller Homes East Midlands, said: “We wanted to host an event at Hackwood to thank all our new residents on choosing Miller Homes as the builder of their new home, and we were thrilled to see so many faces at our barbecue afternoon.
“The event was attended by lots of our new residents, both old and young, and plenty of the development’s new pets, too. Everyone had a great afternoon soaking up some of the early summer sunshine and tucking into a burger while they had a chance to get to know their new neighbours.
“We know the heartbeat of any new development is the people who live in the homes themselves, so we felt this was the right time to host an event to bring everyone together, and it also offered our staff the chance to say ‘thank you’ and show their gratitude to their new customers in Derby.
“Hackwood Park has proved to be a very successful flagship development for the region, with 350 homes built to our exacting Miller Homes standards. We now hope all our new residents will continue to enjoy their homes for many years to come, as we continue to deliver housing at a number of other schemes across Derbyshire.”
The development known as Hackwood Park provided 344 new homes to the area, as well as over £2 million in Section 106 contributions which went back into local services, including more than £500,000 towards secondary education and almost £200,000 towards the design of a new primary school facility.
With construction work finishing in July at Hackwood Park, Derby-based Miller Homes East Midlands is continuing to build new housing across the area, including at Kedleston Grange in Allestree, and at Charters Gate in nearby Castle Donington.
