Plans for student scheme on major city gateway given backing of planners

Plans for new a new student accommodation scheme on one of Nottingham’s busiest junctions have been given the backing of planning bosses ahead of next week’s planning committee meeting.

James Egan has submitted plans for a purpose built student accommodation scheme on the corner of Pemberton Street and Lower Canal Street – on land that has been used as a car park for almost 20 years – and on the edge of the Lace Market.

The plans outline a building – called Finley House – incorporating 81 student bedrooms, made up of 25 studios and 56 cluster flats and designed by Arc Design Studio.
