A 900-year-old renovated North East castle has been named among the UK’s best new architecture for 2024.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has announced 26 winners of the 2024 RIBA National Awards for architecture. The annual awards have been presented since 1966 to shine a light on the best of UK architecture, while also showing insights into new designs and social trends.

Winning projects have been singled out across the country and includes the urban masterplan at London’s King’s Cross, new transport network The Elizabeth Line, the restoration and transformation of Battersea Power Station, and a repurposed dairy farm in Dorchester.
