New research from West Somerset Railway has revealed that Leicester Train Station is the most popular train station in the East Midlands according to internet searches.
Leicester Train Station topped the list receiving an impressive 74,000 searches.
Nottingham Train Station came second (14,800), Derby Train Station came third (14,800).
Skegness Train Station came in at the bottom of the top 10 table with 1,900 searches.

Looking further into the top 3 most popular train stations, the most popular journey from Leicester Train Station is to London St Pancras International.
Nottingham Train Stations is also London St Pancras International. Derby Train Station’s most popular destination is Birmingham New Street.
Taking into account the United Kingdom altogether, searches for over 100 mainline train stations were analysed by West Somerset Railway totalling over 6 million average searches across the UK.
Unsurprisingly, London Victoria Station, Liverpool Street Station and Waterloo Station topped the list with 450,000 average searches, placing them first, second and third.

“It is amazing to see that there are so many searches for train stations in the United Kingdom, including Leicester Station being the most searched station in the East Midlands.
“I feel that 6 million average searches across the United Kingdom in the last year goes to show that there is a desire in the public to use train services as a main form of public transport. Whether that be commuting to work or travelling to beautiful areas of the country on a holiday, the demand for train travel remains high.”
