An independent Cornish bakery business is opening a store in Taunton, creating 15 jobs. Cornish Bakery, which started in Mevagissey, will be based at 7 Fore Street in a former bank building.
The three-storey 19th-century property covers 205 square metres and will be able to seat 58 people inside. It will sell the company's range of products including its award-winning pasties and sausage rolls, as well as cakes and pastries, and coffee.
Inside, the bakery will be lit using lighting from Cornwall-based Tom Raffield and Studio Haran, and there will be original tapestry artwork pieces from South West-based designers A-Side. The Taunton branch brings the number of Cornish Bakery stores to 62.
