Samworth Brothers, the food conglomerate behind brands such as Soreen, West Cornwall Pasty Co, and Ginsters, has seen its sales surpass £1.5 billion after raising prices for consumers in 2023, according to recent disclosures.
The company, with its headquarters in Leicestershire, cited inflation throughout its supply chain as the reason for the increased customer prices, despite significant efforts to offset these substantial rises in input costs.
The firm also attributed the growth in turnover to new business acquisitions and a robust performance over the Christmas trading period.
However, accounts recently filed at Companies House show that Samworth Brothers' pre-tax profits took a hit following the closure of Revolution Kitchen in October 2023, as reported by City AM.
The decision resulted in a £22.5 million loss for the group,
