Construction of Birmingham's tallest building has reached its highest point.

The new 49-storey Octagon apartment tower on the £1.2 billion Paradise estate has topped out, with developers expecting to welcome the first residents from late summer next year.

The 508-foot building, which fronts onto Parade in the north-west corner of the estate, will contain 370 apartments for rent following a three-year build programme.

Backed by global real estate investor City Developments, the construction of the £110 million project has been undertaken by high-rise specialist Midgard and was designed by Birmingham architecture practice Howells.
