Ready, set, build - work officially begins on 93 eco-electric new homes in Nottingham

A local housebuilder has begun building 93 new homes as part of a welcome addition to the ambitious Fairham scheme.

Redrow East Midlands has officially started work at Dovecote Grange, with 93 private and affordable homes being built on the site, including two show homes.

There will be three, four and five bedrooms on offer from the housebuilder’s award-winning Heritage Collection, which sees architecture inspired by the arts and crafts era combined with contemporary, refined interiors. Excitingly, the new homes will also be part of Redrow’s Eco Electric generation, featuring air source heat pumps and underfloor heating as standard, designed to greatly reduce energy bills and contribute to sustainable building.

As part of its responsible approach to building, Redrow will contribute towards shared foot and cycling paths, employment opportunities, 200 acres of green open space and £100m investment into new infrastructure.

Ryan O’Sullivan, Sales Director for Redrow East Midlands, said: “It is an exciting moment for us all as we break ground on our newest site, Dovecote Grange.

“The development has wonderful amenities nearby, while also benefitting from being close to Nottingham centre, making it the perfect location for those looking to live in a thriving community that offers the best of both town and country living.

“We expect these homes will be very popular, especially with their eco-electric credentials, so would advise anyone looking to move to the area to register their interest sooner rather than later.”

Located in Nottingham, Fairham sits alongside the A453 Remembrance Way that links directly to the M1, making it perfect for commuting. It is also next to the NET tram terminus at Clifton South, within a 15-minute drive of East Midlands Airport and Freeport area, and just a 20-minute drive or tram ride from Nottingham city centre.

The development also forms a key part of Rushcliffe Borough Council’s local plan and will help meet the borough’s housing need for 13,500 new homes over the next decade.
