Northumberland confectioner Sweetdreams has expanded into a new factory on the back of a multimillion-pound investment.
The family firm has been manufacturing nostalgic chocolate brands including as Choc Nibbles and Choc Lick for more than 30 years, and has recently branched out into luxury, sustainable chocolate through its Gozo brand. The company, which sells its treats through a number of stockists including Fenwick, Aldi and B&M, was acquired by South East group SugaRich at the start of the year, a deal which Sweetdreams owners Cathy and Matthew Stephenson said would allow them to release the full potential of its range of products.
Now, SugaRich has invested in the firm’s future by aiding its expansion into a new base on Jubilee Industrial Estate in Ashington, Northumberland, following guidance from Advance
